Privacy, plainly
Last updated August 4, 2026
Fablewood exists to hold your family’s voices safely. That only works if you can trust us completely with them, so this page says exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do. Plain language, because the fine-print version wouldn’t say anything different.
What we collect
- Recordings. When a family member calls your story line, the call is recorded — that’s the product. The greeting says so out loud before any recording begins.
- Contact details. Your email address, your family’s name for the library, and the phone number a reader calls from (so we can recognize your family’s calls and block strangers).
- Payment. Handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
- Basic usage. Which stories get played, so you can see what’s loved, aggregate website use, browser errors, performance, and privacy-configured replays of the public website. Form inputs and network request bodies or headers are not recorded. Private family libraries, reader links, and the admin area are never replayed. No advertising trackers, no analytics resold to anyone. After you send a signup or waitlist form, we attach the submitted email and name to that public-site PostHog profile so we can connect the signup to the journey that led to it. Parent emails, phone numbers, and family details are not attached to analytics profiles.
What we do with recordings
One thing: turn them into your family’s keepsake audiobooks. We store the untouched originals and the finished audiobooks encrypted at rest, and we clean up phone-line noise so the voice sounds clear and close.
Today, a human at Fablewood reviews each audiobook before it reaches your library; that is how we keep the quality promise. It’s us making your book, the way a bindery sees the pages; it is never anyone mining your data.
Who touches the data
A short list of processors, each doing one job: Twilio carries the phone calls, Cloudflare hosts the service and stores the audio, Stripe handles payment, PostHog provides product analytics, browser diagnostics, and public-site session replay, Google Analytics measures aggregate website traffic, and Sentry reports operational errors. If we ever add an audio-cleanup partner, we will name it here first and hold it to this page’s promises before a single second of your audio flows through it.
How long we keep things
Until you say otherwise. “Yours forever” means we keep every original and every audiobook so your family never loses them, including off-site backup copies. Ask us to delete your family’s data and we delete all of it, backups included, within 30 days.
Your rights
- Download everything, any time, whether or not you ever pay us again.
- Delete anything, one story or the whole line.
- Ask what we hold about you and get a straight answer within a week.
Children
Fablewood accounts belong to adults. Children listen; we don’t collect information from them.
